One site, several scales
Bosque Nativo is a development in Chía where the regulatory, geographic and financial conditions of the site made it possible to design two ways of living in a single place: 50 single-family homes in a cluster and 48 apartments in two towers.
Reading the ensemble as a whole —rather than each piece on its own— is what reveals the logic of the project: a single territory that densifies gradually, keeping the forest as the protagonist.

The landscape as point of departure
Bosque Nativo starts from one premise: the landscape is the project's point of departure.
The proposal treats the existing vegetation as a fundamental part of the territory, keeping the trees already belonging to the place and adding new planting to consolidate a continuous green structure. The project does not seek to replace the landscape but to become part of it: it is not merely a group of homes but an inhabitable landscape, where the forest is not the backdrop to the architecture but the structure that organises it and gives it identity.

Designing from the limits of the landscape
The protected areas, the bounding biological corridor and the setback strips were not read as obstacles but as the lines that guided the design.
The layout is built from those limits: it concentrates the architecture in the buildable areas and preserves the continuity of the existing green structure, so that the natural voids define the edges, orient the paths and set the relationship between the pieces of the project. The urban design does not seek to occupy the territory but to answer to it, turning the site's constraints into the ordering principle of the architecture.

An architecture ready to evolve
Yarumo houses, Mano de Oso houses, community building and tower: the pieces of the ensemble, each with its own way of looking at the forest.
The Mano de Oso and Yarumo houses come from a single idea: a house should adapt to the life of whoever lives in it, with spaces that change over time and a relationship with the garden and the light that makes the landscape part of daily life. The apartments find another way of relating to the place: the building does not compete with the landscape, it rises to frame the views. And the community building is the articulating space where the paths converge.

Connecting to live as a community
A continuous network of paths ties together the houses, the community building, the tower and the preserved green spaces.
The paths grow out of the limits the landscape sets —the biological corridor, the setback strips and the suburban road corridor—: instead of imposing themselves on the territory they adapt to those conditions and create a continuous transition between architecture and nature. More than circulation routes, the circuits are conceived as places to walk, meet, linger and contemplate. The urban design therefore rests on two principles: the landscape defines where to live, and the paths define how to live in it.

Activating the landscape to build community
Camping area, sports courts, pet area, walking trails, open-air theatre, children's playground and gym: spaces of different scales within the green structure.
The gathering spaces emerge as an extension of the green structure that organises the project: by keeping the natural areas and linking them through the pedestrian circuits, places appear for recreation, sport, play, contemplation and community life. Their arrangement answers to the landscape and to the paths, so that they are reachable from the different homes and tie in with the community building and the tower. More than standalone amenities, they work as nodes within the pedestrian network, creating points of encounter and pause along the way.

One project, three conditions
San Martín, Los Naranjos and Santa Lucía: three independent lots, each with its own regulations and its own development potential.
The differences between the lots are read not as fragmentation but as the chance to build a proposal able to integrate distinct conditions under a single overall vision: the layout answers to the character of each lot while establishing the continuities that let all three work as one project. The environmental structure, the boundaries of each lot and the planning conditions define where to build, how to distribute the typologies and how to keep continuity between the green spaces, the paths and the shared areas.

The projects within the development
Bosque Nativo
Bosque Nativo occupies a site on the Bogotá savanna, in Cundinamarca, between parcels the drawings still call Santa Lucía and Los Naranjos. This is cold country under a changeable sky, and the project takes that on without disguise: every house has a wood-burning fireplace, its metal flue running exposed up the side wall as one more piece of the composition.

Bosque Nativo Apartamentos
The Bosque Nativo apartments share site, climate and site works with the houses of the scheme, on the Bogotá savanna. From the street the entrance is announced by stone walls, a dark steel canopy to leave the car under cover and the name of the development cut into a low wall; behind it rises a brick building whose top floor repeats, as its crown, the same pitched roof as the houses. That is the device tying the two parts of the project together: anyone walking through the neighbourhood recognises a single family of roofs.
