A high floor above Bogotá where the structure was left bare and the light does the rest
The office sits on a high floor in northern Bogotá. The light of the savanna —white, diffuse, almost always the same— comes in through floor-to-ceiling glass, and behind the glass lies the low brick city with newer towers rising between the roofs. It is light that never heats but always fills the room: the whole project is built to let it through.
Before adding anything, the design chose to remove. The slab was left exposed and painted dark, with cable trays, ducts and the fire main in plain sight, and the lighting resolved with suspended linear fixtures that cross the floor plate end to end. Against that dark ceiling, the polished concrete floor, the pale timber joinery and the black steel-and-glass partitions let the façade light reach the middle of the plan without running into a single solid wall.
Inside, the order is one of bands: coffee and social area, services, open workstations, and management. What separates them is not partitions but low furniture — concrete and timber planters with live plants, open shelving — that works as storage, as railing and as a green filter. The social band ends in a curved bar of timber slats topped with pale stone, and in an open terrace looking over the city.
From an open floor plate to four ways of working
The commission came from a client the studio had worked with before, and it was resolved in quick rounds of proposals between August and September 2021. The first decision was not about finishes but about distribution: reading the floor plate as four groups — the social, the technical, the open work area and the management suite — and only then drawing the furniture that draws the line between them. The axonometric drawings from that stage show each group on its own, almost as loose pieces; the dimensioned plan that followed pulled them into a single route that starts at the reception wall with the logo, passes the coffee bar and ends at the meeting rooms against the façade.

The service band: a floor-to-ceiling archive running along an entire wall and an L-shaped kitchen at the back, concentrating everything the office needs to store into a single strip.
