Earth-toned brick at the gateway into Cajicá
Cajicá greets those arriving from Bogotá along the national road to Zipaquirá, in the cold climate of the savanna. On that entry road, in the Calahorra neighborhood and just north of Sabana Park, sits Milla Dorada: a compound that faces the town from Carrera 5, behind low stone walls and newly planted trees.
The housing blocks, five stories of earth-toned brick, gather around inner courtyards where life happens at ground level: a playground, brick-paved paths, rock gardens and a willow presiding over the central plaza. The balconies carry planted flower boxes and timber screens that temper the savanna light, and a two-story gatehouse crosses like a bridge over the vehicular entrance.
The commission was comprehensive and phased: from the urban design for the land-subdivision license and the sales room with a model apartment, through a schematic design modeled in BIM with a site layout guided by sustainability principles, to the design development in Revit coordinated with the technical engineering packages. Between 2023 and 2024 the studio reached the smallest details: kitchen millwork, lighting fixtures and faucets for the model apartment.

The contract signed in March 2022 with Deeb Asociados called the project "Cajicá – La Guzmania," and it ordered the process in phases: first the urban layout of the land for the subdivision license, then a schematic design with a BIM execution plan and LOD 100 massing, and from there the design development in Revit, worked on cloud models alongside the builder's parameters. The initial outline kept being refined down to the gatehouse and finish proposals of 2023 and 2024, with design activity recorded through 2025.
