Office interior design
Scola Abogados commissioned 57Uno to design the interior of its offices in Bogotá, spread over two floors of a tower. The starting point was not a plan but a questionnaire: understanding what the firm is, what work atmosphere it seeks and what image it wants to give its clients.
From that conversation comes the heart of the project: a central library that orders the 550 m² and a spiral staircase —in green steel with timber treads— that stitches the two levels together and becomes the gesture that identifies the office.
Around that core, the spaces were conceived to change use: a large meeting room that works as a multipurpose space and private offices that, through a folding-door system, open up to become an eight-person boardroom.
The warm timber of the bookshelves, the green of the steel and the light from the windows give a law firm an atmosphere that is at once domestic and precise, far from the impersonal office.
From the questionnaire to the space
Before drawing, 57Uno gave Scola a get-to-know-you questionnaire: who they are as a firm, what work atmosphere they wanted, how they should receive their clients. The answers —seriousness without coldness, order and warmth— were translated into a library that governs the space, a staircase that links the two floors and partitions that fold so an office becomes a boardroom. The interior was refined piece by piece until the place resembled the firm that inhabits it.
