Architecture to admire the landscape
The sales pavilion stands on Avenida Sur, the main approach into La Gran Reserva, at the most visible point of the site. It is an open rise: from there Pereira unfolds westward, the hills close the horizon and, below, the green mass of the Consota river reserve. The project brief puts it plainly: the starting point is the views and the environmental potential of the place, and the idea is to bring them inside the route rather than leave them outside.
The form follows from that. A simple volume, almost a cube, set up as a lookout over the landscape. Two of its faces are closed with a screen of perforated blocks that filters the afternoon sun without cutting the view or the air; the other two open in floor-to-ceiling glazing towards the valley. A lower, more domestic wing attaches to the cube, resolved in white render and ochre brick, holding the service areas, the paperwork office and the sales information. Buying a home and looking at the landscape end up being the same walk.
The piece had an annex that explains it: a model apartment built temporarily alongside, with a real balcony and a real front garden, so the layout could be walked before it existed. Around it grew the garden that was also the sales argument — lawn, palms, swings, pool — with the city always behind. 57Uno followed the works with architectural site supervision through to handover.
More about the project›
The Sales Gallery is the first project developed inside La Gran Reserva. Its architectural design takes on the challenge of shaping a commercial building with an identity and a language able to weave together the experience of buying a home with that of admiring the landscape and being in direct contact with the natural surroundings.
The project consists of a two-story volume housing the exhibition spaces, the model apartments of the Guadua (social housing), Ingá and Palma residential projects, the parking areas and the landscaped pedestrian path.
The design proposes a simple volume set up as a lookout over the landscape, holding inside the exhibition spaces for the model apartments of each of La Gran Reserva's residential projects.
The siting follows a strategy of adaptation to the terrain that opens a landscaped pedestrian route, allowing visitors to experience the natural environment surrounding the project.
In terms of orientation, as a bioclimatic strategy the project places most of its glazed surface to the north and south to avoid overheating from solar radiation; lattices and vents distributed across the facade guarantee permanent air renewal.
The view first, the box afterwards
The project did not begin with a plan but with the ground: where you stand, where you look, and how far the scale can be brought down without losing presence from the avenue. The process diagrams follow that order — first the arrows of the views across the site, then the volume adapting to the contour lines, and only at the end the study of sun path and winds that decided which faces close with the screen and which open in glass. The physical model, with the river and the woodland modelled beneath, was used to confirm that the white box reads from the city without blocking anyone's landscape. By the time construction started, the box was no longer a shape: it was the result of that sequence.
