A full renovation in Bogotá where wood weaves the route and light completes it
In northern Bogotá, on Carrera 15 at Calle 127, the Parque Central residential complex holds this commission: the complete renovation of apartment 609 in tower 5. The city appears at night beyond the window walls, but the real protagonist is inside, in a home that was remade from scratch.
The renovation began with a layout proposal drawn in plan and axonometrics: demolish the existing interior and reorganize the home around a continuous living zone, with the kitchen open to the dining room, a dark stone island and a window bench for breakfast. Materiality does the rest: herringbone oak meeting the pale stone floor in a clean seam, a vestibule lined in wood slats with a round mirror and cylindrical sconces, and a custom cabinetry piece running through the house with white doors, backlit niches and a black stone surface. Above the long dining table, two suspended rings of light mark the center of domestic life.
The studio did more than design: it acted as contracting party under delegated administration, hiring the demolition, civil works and utilities, and governing purchases and contracts with its own protocol, in a process documented between 2021 and 2023.
An axonometric that became built work.
The project was decided in one drawing: the axonometric of the full floor plan, with every cabinet, bathroom and route set in place before the first wall came down. With that roadmap approved in November 2021 came the less visible side of the craft: the demolition completion certificate, the civil works and utilities contract with an external builder under delegated administration, and a purchasing protocol that ordered every finish. The built home returns the drawing with precision: today the apartment is walked exactly as it was traced in isometric.
